Healthy Living Choices

We have to make healthy life choices on a daily basis. Many of us like our morning coffee but is it good for us? Many of us like bread but what breads should we stay away from?  We want to feel whole and we want to be complete and that takes a good spiritual foundation and also a good healthy intake foundation. What do you eat? Do you pray? What do you believe about your life and your daily habits? Do you need to change some of your habits that are not healthy or not good for you? Here you can discover what is good for us. Study the Scriptures on this page by logging onto Bible Scholars page and Scriptures tabs. Also read about some good healthy foods that our Lord has given us to eat that will strengthen our bodies. Remember that your body should be the temple of God. We do not own ourselves and we can be a vessel for the Lord.

Remember to put God first and to study His Word and to ask for wisdom of His Word. God is awesome and He created you and me. We must dedicate our time to His purpose and pray daily for ourselves and others.

Healthy Eating Choices



Strawberries:
Strawberries will ease your inflammation and it is high in fiber.  Not only that, strawberries are a super food that helps burn fat, helps with short term memory, promotes bone health, lowers chances of developing cardiovascular disease, and has anti-aging properties.

Grab delicious strawberries next time you're out shopping, especially for it's high fiber content.



Avocados:
​ Want to maintain a healthy heart eat avocados. Avocados are also great for controlling your blood pressure, lowering cholesterol , promotes eye health, and regulates blood sugar levels.


​Put avocados in your next green salad. Delicious!



Dark Chocolate
Some health benefits of dark chocolate includes chocolate being loaded with antioxidants, and it lowers blood pressure, good for the heart and brain, helps control blood sugar, and it contains theobromine. Theobromine helps harden tooth enamel.



Apple Cider Vinegar
Aids in losing weight,  it improves blood sugar control, increases metabolism, and apple cider vinegar adds flavor to your food.


​Lemon Juice
High in vitamin C, has potassium, magnesium, zinc, protein, vitamin E, vitamin A, copper, B6, whoa! Lemon juice and lemons are so healthy, has so many health benefits, including; calcium, iron and folate. 



Garlic
Garlic has medicine properties and aids in healing. contains 15 percent of vitamin C and 17 percent of B6. Garlic can also fight illnesses like the cold, it reduces blood pressure, and lowers the risk of heart disease.  Garlic can help detox metals in the body and it also is good for bone health. Garlic has also been said to help us live longer. Garlic has been known to prevent colon cancer.  In addition, garlic also has anti-clotting abilities.

Add some garlic to many of your meals.



Hot Chocolate
Contains flavonoids which helps prevent platelets in your body from sticking together to form blood clots. Hot chocolate helps to improve the blood flow and also lowers blood pressure. Has lots of antioxidants especially when you drink it hot. Hot cocoa can also help your heart and helps prevent dementia.



Bananas
Bananas are packed with Potassium. High in fiber, good for heart health, contains vitamin C and B6. Delicious too!



Potatoes
Potatoes can lower your blood pressure because they are an excellent source of potassium.  Eat them boiled, baked, fried! Yum!  Fruits high in fiber can help in lowering your risk for colorectal cancer.



Limes
If you need to lose a little weight cut up some lime and squeeze in your glass of water. Refreshing! Limes also improves digestion, are good for eye care, respiratory disorders, good for gums, scurvy and is high in vitamin C.




Coffee
​Believe it or not, drinking coffee promotes a healthy heart, helps prevent liver disease, liver cancer and Parkinson's disease. Drinking coffee also helps to protect against type 2 Diabetes. If you do have high blood pressure drinking decaf proves to be better.




Milk
Rich in calcium and fortified in Vitamin D. Milk is beneficial for bone health. We need milk to have strong, healthy bones. Have a glass of milk for breakfast or with your next piece of pie.  The calcium in milk can also help lower blood pressure.


Green Salads
Not only are green salads great tasting and delicious but the health benefits are great.  Green salads helps your eyes, they build your bones, fights breast cancer, protects your heart and reduces the risk of diabetes. Wow. Awesome. Don't forget to add tomatoes and avocados to make it more healthy and delicious with your next meal.

Cinnamon
A little cinnamon goes a long way, lowering cholesterol​ , regulating blood sugar levels, aiding in cancer prevention, is anti-clotting, provides arthritis relief, is anti-bacterial, and high in nutrients.


Honey
Honey is anti-cancer, helps build the immune system, and is an energy booster. Get this, it also helps to boost the brain! Great. 

Pour some honey in your next cup of tea.​




Green Tea
Green tea aids in weight loss. Green tea lowers your risk of cancer, ​it eases the pain of arthritis, helps your cholesterol levels, reduces tooth decay and boosts your immune system. Green tea can also fight infections in the body. Sip on a cup of some hot or cold green tea with your next meal. Good for your health!

Vitamin D
Vitamin D promotes healthy bones, can decrease your risk for type 1 diabetes, muscle and bone pain, cancers of the breast, it lowers your blood pressure, your chances of heart attacks, reduces your risk of diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis. Take your daily vitamin d in foods or as a supplement. Very important.
